Four-port Polarization Insensitive Optical Circulator is a special type of circulator that has one input (port 1), one output (port 4) and two common ports (port 2&3). The light goes through port 1 to port 2. At port 2, any incoming light is guided to port 3 as output, while all input from port 3 is guided to port 4 as output.Compared to three-port circulator, four-port device has one additional bi-directional port. Hence, it can be used to construct more flexible or more complex optical fiber sub-systems, such as add/drop module, mux/demux module, multi-port bi-directional splitters, WDM optical router, etc.

The Maintaining Bias 3-Port Circulator is a high-performance polarization-maintaining optical component designed for applications requiring low insertion loss, high isolation, and minimal polarization-dependent loss. It features an epoxy-free optical path for enhanced long-term stability and reliable signal directionality from Port 1 to Port 2 to Port 3. Operating at key wavelengths such as 1310 nm, 1550 nm, and 1480 nm, this circulator offers high isolation (≥50 dB typical) and low insertion loss (0.7 dB typical). It is widely used in optical amplifiers, metro area networks, wavelength add/drop modules, dispersion compensation, and bi-directional communication systems. Available with PM fibers, multiple connector options, and various fiber lengths to support flexible system integration.
