OLP1-1 Optical Line Protection System
The OLP1-1 Optical Line Protection System is a robust, rack-mounted device designed to ensure high reliability in optical communication networks. It continuously monitors the optical power on both working and backup fibers, automatically switching to the backup path within 15ms if the primary path degrades below a user-defined threshold. Supporting key wavelengths of 1310 nm and 1550 nm, it features low insertion loss, high return loss, and dual power supply redundancy. With flexible management via LAN, RS-232, or a web-based NMS, the OLP1-1 is ideal for protecting critical fiber links in telecom and enterprise networks against interruptions.
Description
System Overview
The Optical Line Protection System consists of Optical Line Protection (OLP) equipment and a network management system. It enables real-time optical power monitoring, automatic optical path switching, and network management functions.
In an optical communication network, the OLP device continuously monitors the optical power on the working fiber and standby fiber. When the optical power on the current working fiber is detected to be lower than the set switching threshold, the OLP device issues an alarm and automatically switches the working optical path to the standby fiber—thus protecting the optical transmission line.
OLP can simply and economically form protection schemes for various channels and trunk lines, and also protect networks requiring optical path switching. This helps build an optical communication network with no interruption, high reliability, safety, flexibility, and strong disaster resistance.
